Overall Equipment Effectivness
OEE
Production machinery frequently accounts for a significant share in corporate investments. But how comes these machines rarely ever produce marketable products at 100% of all available time?
There are many answers to this question. Of course, there are some unavoidable reasons: machinery needs to get cleaned and serviced, and the time available is decreased by company and official holidays. Beyond that, routine production bears numerous effectiveness-reducing factors: shortage in orders, raw materials or even just packaging material, machinery malfunction and failure, shortage of or insufficiently qualified staff, and quality issues – to name just a few.
The responsible factors can almost always be localized – however, they are rarely ever published and analyzed. Many of the questions related therewith could be answered by the operating staff. Goal is to encourage them to share their knowledge in order to facilitate targeted improvement based on evaluation and analysis.
It mainly takes two things to achieve this: the system needs to be accepted and the necessity has to be realized. InfoCarrier™ incorporates this insight and releases operators from all unnecessary functions.
Clearly arranged cockpits do not only serve to inform the management on the status of productivity. Additionally, operators will get to see the results of optimization measures right away.
